Beckett giving Daddy a kiss. Love it.

At Culvers (again). I asked Keaton how his ice cream tasted and he responded "perfect". I couldn't agree more.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Keaton made a spider out of pipe cleaner and learned the Itsy Bitsy Spider song today at school. The teacher told Darren that he didn't want to put the spider down and played with it all day.

Here's a picture of Keaton with the spider on his leg.

Here's a close-up of the spider.

It took quite a bit to get him to agree to sing the song. I'm not sure how well you will be able to hear it. I can't hear it very well on my computer but I've been told that even when I can't hear it on mine others hear it no problem. The thing he's swinging is the spider.

I am really loving the new school. He really seems to like it too.

Lion

Keaton got this Lion from Oma for his 1st Christmas. He got a lot of enjoyment from it. If you look back to posts from December 08 and January 09 you can see video of him playing with it.

Now that Beckett is learning to walk we've brought it out for him to play with. He loves it too. There is a bit of competition with Keaton who reminds us regularly that it is in fact his toy. Then we thank him for sharing so nicely (and sometimes not so nicely).

Here's a video of Beckett pushing the lion.

Sometimes when Beckett is pushing the lion Keaton runs up and jumps on and yells "go Beckett go". Although Beckett is pretty strong he isn't strong enough to push him so Keaton uses his feet to push off and Beckett basically gets dragged along. I tried to get video but of course they wouldn't cooperate as soon as I pulled out the camera.

Keaton's knock knock joke

Keaton: Knock knock.

Me: Who's there?

Keaton: Keaton

Me: Keaton who?

Keaton: No more Keaton who.

1st Tooth & Climbing Stairs

Tonight was a night of firsts for Beckett.

I was on the phone and Beckett was playing on the floor. I went to the kitchen and came back to the living room. I didn't see him so I went to the front room. I could hear him but couldn't see him. I looked up the stairs and he was at the top. He climbed an entire flight of stairs by himself. He turned to look at me and started to laugh. I thought he might lose his balance so I ran up the stairs and caught him just in time.

During dinner I was feeding him and noticed little white nubs in his mouth when he took a bite. His first tooth finally broke through on the bottom. The gums are still swollen and I think he may have a second tooth tomorrow. I hope this will provide him a little relief. He has been really struggling and so miserable.

Then we were watching TV and looked over and he had climbed on top of the coffee table.

We are going to have our hands full with this one. :)

Beckett 9 month check-up

Today was Beckett's 9 month check-up appointment. It was due on August 23rd but the doctor had to reschedule and then we were on vacation.

He is still a peanut. He weighs 16.6 pounds and is only in the 5th percentile for boys his age. He is 28 inches long which is the 40th percentile for height. It may shock you to know that he still wears mostly 3-6 month clothes. He is wearing more and more 6-9 month now depending on the outfit. He seems to have a very long torso so sleepers and onsies are more 6-9 months. He is super skinny and has no butt so pants and shorts are 3-6 months. He even wears some 0-3 month shorts. Super skinny.

He still doesn't have any teeth but they are ready to pop through any minute. I think he will get them back to back. He is drooling all over and his gums are very white. I hope they come soon so the poor little guy isn't in pain anymore.

He has been trying to stand independently in the middle of the floor but he still falls on his bottom. He is getting more and more brave as he walks around the furniture.

For some reason he loves to climb under the kitchen table and chairs. You look over and he is screaming because he's stuck between the chair legs. He especially likes to be under Keaton's chair. Guessing that's because of all the goodies that end up on the floor. ☺

He is a total Mama's boy. He sees me and that's it. He has no interest in anyone else. Most days he won't even let me put him down without crying. He would sit and cuddle all day and night with Mommy if I was able.

Preschool

Today was Keaton's 1st day of preschool. This is a picture of him walking in the building. It was funny because we said good-bye and he turned around to look at us. For a minute I thought he would cry but then he just started skipping down the hall. The teacher had to call him because he skipped past his classroom.

Keaton said he had a good day. He brought home a painting and played on the playground.

I really like his teacher and think this is going to be great for him.

Vegas - Tubby Time

Oma holding both boys after the tub.

Vegas - Tubby Time

Tubby time!

Not sure where they give their love of taking a bath but they do! They especially loved the huge tub at the timeshare. The intake and jets were low enough so I could turn them on even when Beckett was in the tub. I added bubble bath so they had tons of bubbles.

My Mom complained all morning that she was $10 ahead last night and didn't cash out. She lost her $20 and her $10 winnings. Take one guess where she is now?
