Went 2 Sequoia & Kings Canyon NP Monday. Highlight: seeing a black bear. The huge trees were pretty cool 2. Today Disneyland!

Perfect camping dinner - sandwich

Perfect camping dinner - sandwich maker pizza, sahlens hot dogs and marshmellows. All cooked over the fire. Delish!

A large bear was spotted

A large bear was spotted near our site. We didn't get to see him. Saw a blacktail deer in velvet 40 yrds from our tent.

Late start. Long drive. 1:15 and just finished getting tent up. We're all bundled up and ready for bed. Good-night all.

Call from Mickey and Minnie

Guess who called Keaton this morning - Mickey and Minnie! Our package included a call from a character telling us all about our vacation. Keaton kept saying Mickey, Minnie I over here - it's Keaton. So excited.

Check-Ups

Both boys had check-ups today with Dr. McMillan. We are very sad to report this will be their last appointment with her. She and her family are relocating out of the area. Very sad for us as we absolutely love her.

Today was Keaton's 3 year check-up. He's doing great. He is very tall - 39.25 inches and in the 90th percentile. He is also pretty skinny. He weighs 32 pounds 2 ounces. A bunch of the rides at Disneyland require him to be 40 inches tall. Fingers crossed that with shoes he will meet the height restriction. There are some rides that I think he would love and it would be a bummer to be so close and not make it.

Beckett had his 6 month check-up. Developmentally he's doing great too - already getting around with the army crawl, sitting up and blowing raspberries. He weighs in at a whopping 13 pounds 14 ounces. Guess this explains why he still fits in size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes. He can wear 3-6 month clothes too. But anything that is 6 months falls off. He is 26.5 inches tall which puts him in the 75th percentile for height.

Tomorrow morning we leave for our California Adventure. I absolutely can't wait. It is going to be an amazing vacation. I will try to post pictures throughout our trip.

Keaton was awake this morning when I left for work. I went into his room to say good-bye and told him if he looked out his window he could see me leave. He's done this a few times but today was the first time a took a picture. He climbs onto his windowsill and waves good-bye. It is really cute. The first time it happened I thought Darren was helping him but nope. He's just a little monkey and climbed up all on his own.

I wish the picture would be a little better but it was taken with my cell phone and it was a gloomy rainy morning which may have made it a little worse too. There is an arrow to point him out. If you click on the picture in the blog it should open a new window with a blown up version so you can see it better.

A mover and a shaker

We are in trouble now... Beckett is mobile! He does a cross between a scoot and an army crawl. It' pretty cute. We've got to be extra careful with all Keaton's toys. He's fast. One minute he's on the blanket and the next he's made his way to a toy, Darren's chair or the fireplace. Hope you enjoy this video.

Keaton's new cowboy hat from Oma (early birthday present). He picked it out himself. He was adament that he wanted the black one. My little cowboy.
