Visit With Santa

Keaton had his first visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus yesterday. He didn't cry at all. He was completely enamored with Mrs. Claus. He just stared at her the entire time. He was smiling and giggling from ear to ear.

While we were looking at the photo proofs there was another family with a little boy a few months older than Keaton. The little boy crawled over to Keaton and sat up on the floor. Keaton was on his tummy and watched as the boy came over. Then he swung his legs around and pulled himself up. It was the first time that he sat up all by himself. He has been trying for the past few weeks and getting so frustrated when he couldn't get up.  I of course gasped and was so excited. Darren looked at me as if I was nuts.

I hope to post pictures or a video later this week.

6 Month Check Up

Today Keaton had his 6 Month check up with Dr. McMillan. It is so hard to believe that he is already 6 months old. He weighs just over 17 pounds and is 27.5 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile for height. I guess those Grawe genes skipped me.

Jennifer and Matt gave Keaton his Christmas present early - Hokey Pokey Elmo. He loved it. Here are some pictures. They don't do justice for his excitement. Enjoy.

Catching Up...

Sorry it has been so long since we've posted. Life has been very busy and I try not to get online when I get home from work so I can spend time with my favorite boys. To make up for it I am including a video for your viewing pleasure. I hope you enjoy it.

Keaton is doing great. He tries very hard to crawl. He's able to pull himself across the floor - as you will see in the attached video. He can't actually crawl but he gets on all fours and starts to rock front to back. He is very happy and easy going. I love his laugh.

Keaton loves Elmo. He lights up whenever it is on TV or even if you just sing the Elmo's World song. We had him in Target last week and he went crazy for the talking Elmo's. I think that is what he wants from Santa.

Keaton is going to have a one on one visit with Santa and Mrs Claus in two weeks at Gardner Village. It will be so funny to see how he interacts with them. It is part of our Christmas photo session at Highlight.

Yesterday was Darren's birthday. I had school so Darren when over to the Rosser's house for dinner. Shannen made a nice dinner and cherry pie. It sounds like they had fun. I wish I could have gone. It would have been more fun than school.

I enjoy my class quite a bit. It is an American History class. I wasn't looking forward to it in August but after the first class I remembered how much I enjoyed school -- well perhaps not the papers and test but I like to learn new things. I need to register for my Spring classes later this week. I am going to try to take two classes next semester.

Archery started last week and Darren is thrilled. Not only does he really enjoy archery but I think that it is great for him to get out of the house and to have some time without Keaton and me.

Well I won't make you wait any longer. Here is the video. I hope you enjoy it!

Happy Halloween

As promised I am posting on Halloween! We have had quite an eventful week.

Pumpkin Pillow
Ur Oma sent a package that included this large pillow pumpkin. Keaton has been enjoying playing with it. He likes the swishing sound it makes when the material is touched.

Oma's Visiting Again
Oma is here for a visit. She will be with us until next Tuesday. Then she will be in Colorado visiting with Jennifer. Back in Utah on the following Sunday and staying until November 17.

Halloween Eve
These pictures were taken last night. In honor of Halloween Keaton is wearing his skull jammies. He has his special skull binky from Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Joel in his mouth.

No one told us that in Utah carved pumpkins only last for 24 hours. It is so dry here that they literally start to fall apart. We carved a pumpkin on Sunday and by Monday evening it was already rotting. So we decided that we should carve another one. I think really it was because Darren wanted more baked pumpkin seeds!

Pumpkin Head Lemieux #2

Best Poop Story
This may be the best poop story of all time. Seriously be prepared to laugh really, really hard.

We were sitting at the kitchen table and we could smell that aroma -- you all know the one that I am talking about. I got him out of his highchair and went to the living room where we have the pack-n-play with the changing table. I pulled off his pants and realized there was poop everywhere. It was on the onsie, his back, thighs, legs, socks, pants, everywhere. I scooped him up with the changing mat and took him directly to the tub. I got him out of the tub and into his jammies. We went back downstairs and went back to our evening -- Keaton had a bottle and we carved the pumpkin.

After getting Keaton to bed we were in the living room relaxing watching TV and I noticed something on the ceiling. I could not figure out what it was by looking at it. I pointed it out to Darren and was like... what the heck is that on the ceiling? He looked at it and said... that is POOP!

It sure was. A big blob of poop on the ceiling. How the heck did poop get on the ceiling? How is that even possible? The only thing that I can think of is that when I pulled off his pants somehow it shot up there.

We have been laughing about it since. Unbelievable!

Halloween
Today is Halloween. We had a busy day. BMW had trick or treating for our families. So Darren, Oma and Keaton came to the office around 1. The office was filled with babies and kids.

There were five babies born in 2008. We had a group photo with all the babies. It was so funny. I have one picture with no one crying. Then one by one all they started crying. The only girl in the bunch just looked around at them like they were nuts. The youngest baby just slept through it all. It is very funny.

As you may have heard Utah is the baby capital of the world. Since I have worked at BMW there has never been a month without someone pregnant. Well the best costume today was a girl named Katie who wore a skeleton costume. She made it herself at home and added a baby skeleton on her belly to announce to the office that she was pregnant. It was really an awesome idea.

Here are some pictures of Keaton in his lion costume. He was really cute. He wouldn't roar on command at the office but when we got home he was roaring really loud.

The many face of Keaton -- Halloween edition

One last note I wanted to share with everyone about Halloween - only a handful of trick-or-treaters walked door to door. We had trick-or-treaters arrive on four wheelers and golf carts. The parents would drive from driveway to driveway. The kids would jump off and run to the house to get their candy. It was too funny. Perhaps this is something that Dalton, Hunter and Lynnea should try next year. I guess it is a Grantsville thing. I couldn't see that happening in Salt Lake or even Tooele.

Well we hope that you all had a Happy Halloween!

Happy Sunday!

We are very excited that this will be Keaton's first Halloween. He has a few Halloween outfits to wear leading up to the big day on Friday.

This Pooh Pumpkin outfit I bought last October right after we found out that we were pregnant. It was on the clearance rack and I picked it because it could be worn for a boy or a girl. I love the hat.

Darren and Keaton carved a pumpkin tonight. Darren went online and found a goofy Frankenstein template. Keaton sat on the island in his bumbo and watched as Darren carved. I don't remember it taking quite so long to carve a pumpkin.

I'll hold the template for you Daddy!
Good job Daddy, I love it!
Just call me Pumpkin Head Lemieux!

These pictures were taken last week. Keaton is quite the thrill seeker. He loves to be thrown in the air and flipped upside down. I can only imagine what kind of crazy things he is going to try when he is older. Darren keeps teasing that he will be jumping off the balcony in a few years.

Look at me upside down!
Here I come Cirque du Soliel!

I promise to post pictures by EOD Friday of Keaton in his lion costume. He has been working to prefect his roar!

First Course... Oatmeal!!!!!

Last night Keaton had his first experience eating solid foods. His first course... oatmeal.  He has been getting 2 tbsp of rice cereal mixed into his milk but this is the first time that he sat in his totally cool brown and orange high chair (from Uncle Pete and Debbie) and ate from a spoon.

This is the first time that we have posted a video. It will be like you are here with us! We hope that you enjoy it!

We love your feedback. All comments are appreciated!

4 month check-up

Keaton had his 4 month check-up with Dr. McMillan on Thursday. She said that he is very healthy.

He weighs 15 pounds 3 ounces which puts him in the 50th percentile for weight and he is 26 inches long which puts him in the 90th percentile for height. She was very surprised that he is rolling over both ways and blowing raspberries which apparently are skills that he should be mastering much later. We showed her how he likes to play sit down/stand up. She told us to get ready and start baby proofing now because she thinks he is going to be mobile before we know it. She is right. He is rolling all over the place.

He got some more shots. This time wasn't as bad as last time. Only one of us cried... him.

We have the green light to start with cereal anytime we want. He is already getting 1 tbsp. in his bottle. It will be interesting to see how he does with a spoon. Then we can start trying baby food. I read an article that says it is better to start with meat, then vegetables, then fruit. The doctor says there is no issue with that method. We will keep you posted and make sure we get lots of pictures. I am sure he is going to be a messy boy.

Tomorrow he gets his picture taken again. This will be his halloween picture. I am not sure where we are going to put all these pictures but I will tell you that I am so thankful we are having taking them.

Well I should go to bed. I have to work in the morning.

Best to all,
Melissa

September Days...

Ur Oma is here visiting from Sept 19 to October 2 (Sept 25-29 w/Jennifer). We have loved having her here. We are so grateful that her "ticker" is back to normal and that she is able to visit. It is so nice to have some one on one time.

We have started a project while she is here -- we are video taping her life story. I am not sure if we will get it done this visit. We may have to keep working on it over Christmas.

Keaton has started holding his own bottle. He doesn't tip it quite enough but he likes to show his independence... I wonder where he gets that personality trait?

He is so happy. He smiles and giggles all day. He is making tons of noise... screeching, blowing raspberries and saying "Rrrrrrrr".

Yes, he is a genius. Our 4 month old knows the 18th letter of the alphabet. When you ask him he responds Rrrrr. You can ask him what a pirate says. He knows the answer Rrrrr. When you ask him what letter rose starts with he answers Rrrrr. Like I said, he is a genius. LOL.

This is the first time he sat up by himself before tipping over.

We bought a Bumbo last week. He likes to be able to sit upright and we like having another spot to keep him entertained.

Like Father, Like Son. Both my boys are addicted to the TV. I took this picture in morning as I was getting ready for work and they were watching DIY.

This creepy crawly gross bug is called a Jerusalem Cricket. I noticed it in the driveway when I was coming home from school. I have never seen anything like it. So you can see just how big it is we placed it next to a AA battery. According to the information we have seen online it is not poisonous but it has a very painful bite.

Happy Birthday

A message from Keaton...

Today is my Aunt Nicole's 30th birthday. My mommy bought some balloons so we could have a little party in Utah. If you see my Aunt Nicole today be sure to wish her a Happy Birthday!

I am getting bigger and stronger every day. I can roll over both ways -- from my tummy to my back and from my back to my tummy. I love playtime and this is my favorite toy. I love to explore all the different pieces and sounds. I am always smiling and giggling while I play.

Well I need to get back to keeping my Mommy and Daddy entertained.

I love you all oodles and oodles.

Love,
Keaton

xoxoxo

Note: Nicole's birthday is September 8th. I wrote this message last night and waited to post until this morning thinking that it would then post on the 8th but blogspot considers the date that you started the message as the posting date.

Rolie Polie Keaton

This morning Keaton rolled over for the first time. He rolled from his stomach onto his back. We actually missed it! I was cooking breakfast and Darren was eating and watching DIY (surprise, surprise). I put him back on his tummy and Darren pulled out the video camera. Within a few minutes he did it again. We were both cheering and telling him what a big boy he is. He just smiled from ear to ear.

I thought he was going to roll from his back to tummy first because he has been so close for the past week. He hadn't even attempted rolling the other way when he had tummy time.

All that activity must have tired him out because now he is napping.

ONE FOR THE MONEY...
TWO FOR THE SHOW...
THREE TO GET READY...
FOUR TO GO!!!!!     TAH DAH!!!!
