Urgent Care - Beckett

Beckett made a trip to Urgent Care last night.

Darren said he was super tired yesterday. He fell asleep at 1:30 and was still sleeping when I got home at 6. When he woke up from his nap he had a fever of 104.6. Darren took it a few times and it shifted by a little bit but was still over 104. We took him to the new Urgent Care in Tooele. I was so glad that it was empty - we didn't have to wait at all. The doctor seemed extremely nice and thorough. I liked his bedside manner. Beckett's blood/oxygen level and heart rate were good. His lungs sounded clear. When he checked the ears he said right away - he's got an ear infection in the left ear. He hasn't been rubbing it or pulling on it at all. I was really surprised that was the problem. He prescribed us an antibiotic and said it should start working pretty quickly. We are also alternating between ibuprofen and tylenol to keep the fever down and comfortable so he can rest. Let's hope this is the last trip we have to make for a very long time.

On a side note they weighed him and he's up to 15 pounds.

Bouncing

Here's a picture of Keaton bouncing at Park Silly. Just after I took this picture the power went out and the entire bounce house deflated with the kids inside. Keaton let out a scream and he couldn't get out. I couldn't see him but I could hear him. Finally he made his way to the exit.

This is Beckett's first time in a pool. The water was a little chilly but he loved it. Looking forward to our vacation in August. Both boys will really love the big pool.

Sitting Up

Beckett has also started sitting up himself (from laying to sitting). The first time Darren noticed was yesterday afternoon but I think he actually did it the first time the night before. I still haven't seen him actually sit up. I just look over and he's sitting there with his goofy Guggenheim grin (which I love).

Beckett Weigh-In

Beckett had a weigh-in last night. He's up to 14 lbs 8 oz. The Dr. didn't seem overly worried about his weight but suggested we modify his feedings and bring him back for another weigh-in mid August.

This was the first visit with the new pediatrician. While I know I am going to really miss Dr. McMillan I thought Dr. Hartunian seemed very nice.

Mickey Ears

We bought both boys Disneyland Mickey Ears and had their names embroidered on the back.

This picture was taken by one of the professional photographers at Disneyland. I wanted to try to get a picture of the boys by themselves in front of the castle. We put down a blanket for them to sit on and the photographer started to snap pictures. He did get quite a few with the castle in the background but he took a few close-ups of the boys too. This is one of my absolute favorite pictures from our vacation.

Driveway Hair Cut

Keaton's hair grows so fast. It actually starts to look fuzzy. He really has funky hair. He could get a cut every four weeks easily. Darren suggested that he could cut it. When Darren worked at BSF he would cut Scott's hair and then Scott would cut his. So I knew he would be able to make it look good.

We'll still probably go to Cookie Cutters before pictures or important events. But for in between cuts Darren will probably do it.

Radio Flyer

This radio flyer was Uncle Mike's when he was a little boy. He's passed it along to my boys to enjoy. Our driveway has the perfect incline to really get moving. Keaton would bring it to the top of the driveway jump on and ride all the way down. I finally pulled out the video phone at about the 6th time down the driveway.

Darren was blowing raspberries on Beckett's neck and I couldn't resist recording it. Beckett just giggled and crinkled his whole face with delight. Enjoy.

First Course - Avocado

Beckett had solid food for the first time today. We are starting with avocado because it is high in good fats and Beckett really needs to gain some weight. He didn't love it. I'm not sure how much made into his stomach compared to how much was on his little bib. We will try more tomorrow. Hopefully it goes better. In a few days we'll add sweet potatoes into the mix.

Goofy was silly. He made Keaton chase him and then kept covering his face. Keaton ate it up and laughed. Wish we would have had the video camera out and ready.

Birthday Party - Disneyland

I just realized this picture wasn't sent. This is the cake we each received at Keaton's Birthday Party. We were able to decorate it ourselves. Check out Darren's creation in a later post. We also received a Mickey ears paper birthday hat and lemonade in a souvenir birthday glass with lid. The party MC was Patrick Edward Cake the Thirds aka Pat E Cake. He was fabulous. Visited each table and spent time with each child. Then when we sang Happy Birthday he said we didn't do a good enough job so he had some friends that would come help. Then Mickey and Minnie came out. We sang happy birthday again and did a conga line. Then each child was able to give hugs and have their picture taken with Mickey and Minnie. It was awesome. Absolutely worth the cost - only $15.99 per person. Speaking of the cost it is 2 and under free. When she asked how many I said 4 then she asked the ages when I said today was Keaton's 3rd birthday she said I bet he was born in the evening - after 3 PM. I said yes and she said well then technically he isn't 3 yet so he was free to.

It was a wonderful day.
